ForestNavigator Final Event

After four years of research and collaboration, the ForestNavigator project is coming together for its Final Event in Brussels. Over two days, the event will showcase key project results, tools and resources and discuss how they can support evidence-based decision-making for the future of Europe’s forests.
The event will bring together researchers, policymakers, industry representatives and other stakeholders to exchange on ForestNavigator’s findings and their relevance for European and national forest policy.
13 October – ForestNavigator Research Marketplace
The ForestNavigator Research Marketplace will offer an interactive opportunity to explore key project results and engage directly with ForestNavigator researchers. Participants will discover ForestNavigator’s databases and research on European forests, climate mitigation, the forest bioeconomy, biodiversity and ecosystem services. The programme will also feature demonstrations of the policy modelling toolbox, exploratory pathway results and the ForestNavigator Portal, including its Data and Pathways Explorers.
14 October – Final Conference: Navigating the Future of the EU Forest Sector
The Final Conference will focus on Forest Policy Pathways and their contribution to reconciling climate mitigation, biodiversity conservation and bioeconomy objectives at EU and national levels. The programme will include presentations of key results, a panel discussion with policy and decision makers, business and industry stakeholders and representatives of civil society, as well as a presentation of the ForestNavigator Portal.
Aims
The Final Event will share and discuss key outputs developed across the ForestNavigator project, including:
- Share key ForestNavigator results and tools
- Present databases, models, the policy modelling toolbox and the ForestNavigator Portal
- Show scenario and pathway results
- Discuss what the results mean for Europe’s forests
- Exchange with policymakers and other stakeholders
