ForestNavigator presented at IBFRA
The ForestNavigator project presented at the IBFRA23 meeting in Helsinki. In front of an audience of researchers, managers, policymakers and members from the civil society, ForestNavigator coordinator Fulvio Di Fulvio (IIASA) explained the concept of the project in a poster.
In addition, ForestNavigator researcher Andrey Lessa (IIASA) presented his work on the use of deadwood as an indicator of forest management sustainability and Emil Cienciala (IFER) described the development of the forest carbon stock budget development following extreme drought. Moreover, Tord Snäll (SLU) discussed the impacts of future forest use on biodiversity, ecosystems and climate.
The ForestNavigator project will develop hands-on tools to support policy makers to weigh priorities in nature conservation, climate mitigation and the bioeconomy. Thank you, IBFRA, for organising a productive meeting!
