New Publication: Prototype of EU forest meta model sensitive to climate change and disturbances
This deliverable describes the i3PGmiX model. The model is based on the 3PGmix process-based forest growth model and includes developments on the representation of photosynthesis, autotrophic respiration, natural mortality, forest management, as well as soil carbon and nitrogen dynamics. Besides a technical model description for future users, the deliverable also includes a proof of concept where the i3PGmiX model results for a simulation of climate change impacts on forest growth in Europe, as well as the impact of wind and bark beetle disturbance activity.
The report has been published in One Earth Journal.

Open letter from the community for the full consideration of Earth Observation in the EU Forest Monitoring Law
Recognizing the increasing pressures on European forests, a community of Earth Observation (EO) experts have issued an open letter for consideration in shaping the Forest Monitoring Law (FML). The law as proposed by the European Commission includes the collection and sharing of timely and comparable forest data obtained through a combination of ground-based measurements and Earth Observation technology.
