Exciting collaboration: ForestNavigator, ForestPaths and PathFinder develop policy pathways to maximise forest contributions to climate neutrality

Forests are indispensable for mitigating climate change and preserving biodiversity. As Europe charts the future of its forests, it’s imperative that policies and management practices bolster these essential functions. This mission is at the heart of three Horizon Europe projects: ForestNavigator, ForestPaths, and PathFinder. Together, they have embarked on a multi-year journey of research and collaboration. To shed light on their objectives and progress, the projects have released a new infographic, now available for public viewing.

These projects are dedicated to developing comprehensive models that demonstrate forests’ potential in combating climate change and halting biodiversity loss. A key aspect of their work involves pioneering advanced forest monitoring techniques, integrating data from diverse sources. Additionally, they aim to adapt forest management practices to align with environmental targets, thereby contributing to a sustainable bioeconomy. Engaging stakeholders is also a priority; through joint webinars, workshops, and communication campaigns, the projects strive to maximize their outreach and impact.

Looking ahead, this collaborative spirit will persist as the projects continue their joint efforts into 2025 and beyond. Stay informed about the latest developments by exploring their joint Linktree and participating in the ForestTalks webinar series.
